Ari Krepostman started making skateboarding and snowboarding films as a teenager in Albany, New York. In college, he began writing, directing, and photographing narrative short films. Since graduating from the Colorado College in 1999, he has lived in New York City. During his time here, he has directed in-house spots for Bartle Bogle Hegarty, and produced for a diverse and growing pool of award-winning filmmakers such as Joan Stein, Leah Meyerhoff, Tim Greenberg, Daniel Leeb, Andrew Neel, and others. Most recently, Ari was the production manager of Sundance filmmaker Matthew Bonifacio’s AMEXICANO which marks his 4th cooperation with the critically acclaimed and award-winning director of the soon-to-be theatrically released “Lbs.”
In 2004, Ari started Cinemantics as a vehicle to produce films of all kinds. He has since produced more than 15 short films, including CONEY ISLAND 1945, BAGELIZED, NEW BOOBS, THE WATERING HOLE, ED'S TRIP, INITIATION, SECRETS KEPT, and more. Ari’s short films have played all over the world at prestigious festivals such as the Tribeca Film Festival, The Times/BFI London Film Festival, Aspen Shortsfest, Worldwide Short Film Festival, Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films, The Hamptons Film Festival, and many others.
Ari currently works as a production consultant, producer, and web designer. He is in the midst of post-production of his first feature film, a documentary called MESSENGERS in cooperation with director Dan Leeb. Ari is also developing a fast-paced noir thriller dealing with the events surrounding 9/11 set in the not-too-distant future as well as a spec animated series, NUTS about the secret lives of squirrels for The Cartoon Network.
