Come check out some films and see Coney Island before its torn down to make room for a newer, shinier, more sparkly version of itself. I can't say for sure, but my guess is that Isaiah (star and subject of Coney Island, 1945) won't appreciate what Joe Sitt has in mind.

The film festival we were referring to in our 2/24 update is the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is called Coney Island, 1945 by Jeremiah Zagar. In this breathtaking film, documentary becomes dream as artist Isaiah Zagar sits in a diner, reminiscing on his childhood as he draws a picture of a bird. His looping pen strokes come to life, carrying us back into a childhood memory of him and his mother at the beach in Coney Island. The film uses a mix of 35mm film, digital video, and animation. The film stars Isaiah Zagar as himself, Jacob Honig as Young Isaiah, and Sara Hatfield as Gertie Zagar.
